8 weeks post op anchor lift with implants- weird looking. Thoughts? (photos)

Hello,8 weeks is still very early. The "flaps" on the side will settle some and if not completely settled by 3-6 months, your surgeon may want to revise these. I recommend waiting a few more months as they will settle out and then you can decide.All the best,Dr. BlaggAustin, TX

Dear Tiff78,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast lift surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. It is way too early to make a final judgement, give it a full year at least before making judgements about the appearance.  A lot will change in this time.

you are not going to be happy as you have a natural look and with settling, your mound will round out and soften the pointy parts.  The dog ears at the lateral ends of the incisions will need a revision down the road to remove.  Did your surgeon know you wanted fake upper poles???  If not, you have a great result.  If you were clear you wanted fake, then you will have to employ the revision policy to get the outcome your want.

Although still in the early stages of healing, the cone shape will typically improve as the implant settles lower on the chest and stretches the soft tissue causing the lower pole to round out and become less projecting.  As the lower pole becomes less coned / projected, the upper pole will typically begin to appear more projected than it currently does, although it will not increase in absolute volume.  
Additionally, with implants in this volume range, I rarely recommend going with larger implants as the weight of these implants is more than most patients' soft tissue can tolerate.  
Be patient and maintain a good relationship with your plastic surgeon.  Good luck.

Hi TYou are correct about the "flaps" on the side.  They are just a bit of extra skin and extra bra fat or breast tissue, along with swelling due to healing.  The fullness will improve over time.The fullness in the midline will also improve with time.  I would be patient for at least 6 months or so, and if a revision is needed, it should not be a huge operation.All the best.sek

The breast and skin flaps need time to settle.  It can take months before you see the final result.  If revision is needed, that can easily be done in a few months.  Express your concerns to your surgeon.
