Liquid Rhinoplasty or Traditional? (Photos)

I would never under any circumstances recommend a liquid rhinoplasty. The filler is highly unpredictable over time and can cause a litany of other issues (including potential intravascular injection causing necrosis [death] of surrounding tissues, not to mention potential irreversible blindness).

Hello and thank you for your question and the pictures. You actually have a difficult problem. Unfortunately, liquid rhinoplasty (nasal filler) would not be able to do what you're looking for! To properly address your nose and improve your facial balance, you would actually need an open septorhinoplasty to improve the overall harmony of your different facial features- it is particularly effective at addressing the size, shape, and definition (especially of the tip)!

This truly a surgery of millimeters- and whether you're looking for a minor adjustment or a major transformation, it requires exceptional surgical skill to achieve natural-looking results! Because your nose is the DEFINING feature of your face- I would only recommend seeing a surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty procedures, and who has significant training and experience performing these surgeries. I actually trained under one of the world leading rhinoplasty experts (who performs 1,000+ nosejobs annually).

Liquid rhinoplasty involves injecting filler material into the nose, typically making it appear slightly larger or more balanced—exactly the opposite of what you're aiming to achieve. If your goal is to make your nose smaller or achieve significant structural refinement, traditional surgical rhinoplasty would indeed be the appropriate choice. While liquid rhinoplasty can effectively address minor irregularities or enhance symmetry temporarily, it cannot decrease nose size or deliver permanent outcomes. Surgical rhinoplasty, on the other hand, reshapes the nasal bones and cartilage comprehensively, providing long-lasting aesthetic and functional results. I strongly recommend consulting a board-certified plastic surgeon who can thoroughly assess your unique anatomy and guide you towards the best possible outcome. Based on your photos, a liquid rhinoplasty won't really help with reducing the overall size of the nose. A well performed rhinoplasty should be able to make a nice improvement in the size and contour of your nose. The tip can be made more narrow as well as the bridge. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.

You would need an in person exam to completely evaluate your nose. But I do not think adding liquid would be beneficial. So I would recommend a traditional rhinoplasty.

I would start by recommending that you see a rhinoplasty surgeon in consultation to be properly assessed and get the best possible information. It would also be helpful to see a true side profile photo.
But to offer more general advice, as someone who offers both surgical and “liquid” rhinoplasty, i tell my patients that using filler to mask irregularities and improve nasal profile relies on augmentation, making the nose overall larger. You can’t take away with filler and therefore if the concern includes that the nose is overall too large for the face from a facial balance perspective, then a surgical approach is likely the best option.

Based on what I see, you appear to have a wide nasal appearance in your bridge and tip, and if you are seeking a narrower nasal appearance, adding volume would not be helpful. Rhinoplasty surgery may be considered for achieving a narrower and less distracting nasal appearance. Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you are a much better candidate for a surgical rhinoplasty rather than a non-surgical rhinoplasty, which would just make your nose look larger by adding more volume to it. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Fascial grafts may also be used to help improve tip refinement. Other maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

In a "liquid" rhinoplasty (which I don't do), stuff is injected into the nose, making the nose look bigger. You're looking for the opposite change, I believe.

The goals on your nose would be to narrow and slightly elevate the tip, narrow the bridge, make sure it all fits together. The width of your tip in particular makes this a difficult operation to get right, so be sure to check out your surgeon carefully.
