Can osteotomies be repeated in a secondary rhinoplasty?

Occasionally, somebody does not achieve adequate infraction of their nasal bones during a primary rhinoplasty surgery, and this may result in a wide, or an asymmetrical nasal bridge appearance. If this is seen 9 to 12 months after surgery, it is not a major undertaking to repeat osteotomies to achieve a narrower nasal appearance. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Yes, osteotomies can be repeated. In your case it seems like lateral osteotomies were not done. This will be the first time you get lateral osteotomies. This makes it a lot easier. You might only need lateral osteotomies to push the bones together.

Hi,Osteotomies can be done in secondary rhinoplasties to correct dorsal issues like open roof deformity,dorsal axis deviations,bony pyramid base wideness etc…ıt may be performed in your nose to make your dorsum narrower.
