Continued pain after temporary crown and two bite adjustments normal?

Question

I had my last molar replaced with temp crown and the tooth next to it had a filling replaced. I had toothache that night and next 2 days where I needed pain reliever constantly. I went for an adjustment and seemed okay but that night toothache throughout jaw to front tooth. Back next day for another adjustment. I'm STILL having intense toothache pain requiring around the clock tylenol and Advil. I'm freaking out. Can the tooth just be sensitive to the adjustments made? Is it something else??

It appears from the limited info you've given that the depth of the decay in one or both of the treated teeth might have been extensive enough to damage the nerve.  That can often happen. Without and x-ray, its impossible to diagnose. Return to your dentist and bring this up. There are several techniques to rule out nerve damage, joint pain, an uneven bite. The point is to get yourself out of pain! Call in first thing Monday morning and be open to do what needs to be done to get relief.

Hi:There are three possibilities:1.  Bite still needs to be adjusted in multiple direction2.  Clenching or grinding at night3.  Nerve issue and you might need a root canal.Best,Dr. Maddahi
