Mini facelift - do I need to dissolve fillers first? (Photos)

Question

I had sculptra/ radiesse injections in nasolabial folds and jawline in June 2024 after I lost 30 lbs. I am considering a mini facelift to remove the double chin/ big neck . Do I need to dissolve the fillers? Am I a good candidate for surgery?

I perform facelifts or mini facelifts frequently in people who have had fillers. It does sometimes require some surgical adjustments but I do it routinely.  As an aside neither Radiesse or Sculptra
Can be dissolved unlike the hyaluronic acid fillers. In the location you had them injected it Woukd not be a problem for surgery

Usually it is not necessary to dissolve fillers before face/neck lift; however, in some patients it may be beneficial. That is something to discuss with your surgeon at least few days before surgery. Good luck.

Dissolving fillers will not be necessary. From what I can see in the distorted photograph, you have too much fat in your neck and face for a mini face lift. You will need liposuction of the neck and a full face lift.

No, you do not need to dissolve any fillers in your face prior to a facelift procedure. Much more information is needed to make sure you're a candidate for some type of facelift procedure, which would include a full set of facial and neck photographs from all angles, and your age. A mini lift will not address any issues in your neck. A full face and neck lift procedure accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, lifting the jowls, and removing fat deposits in the neck located both above and below the platysma muscle, in addition to a platysma plasty to significantly improve the jaw line.
