Is it dangerous?
Radiesse is a safe filler can can be used for chin augmentation. The chin can also be improved with these fillers (Voluma, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
I have personally been using Radiess for nearly two decades, since the early days when it was known as Radiance. It is a natural, calcium-based injectable, that in addition to being a useful volumizing filler, promotes new collagen and elastic fiber production. And it has a proven safety record of two decades to back it up. Results typically lasted about two years in the chin region. That being said, after the introduction of Voluma XC, a natural hyaluronic acid-based volumizing filler, I began switching my patients over to this for various nonsurgical augmentation problems, include nonsurgical chin augmentation. It, too, is safe and provides excellent augmentation. It likewise also promotes, to some degree, new collagen and elastic fiber production and lasts up to two years. However, Voluma XC has the additional benefit that, if necessary, it may be dissolved using the enzyme hyaluronidase--an important plus that Radiesse does not possess. Best of luck.
