Chin soreness after Juvederm (Photo)

Question

I have half a syringe to maybe a little more than half of juvederm injected today. My chin is sore from it and it hurts to purse my lips. Mainly my bottom one hurts the most. Is this normal? I’m not bruised or anything. It really hurts if I move my lip, but not if I push on it

Hello,Thank you for your question. The chin can be very sore after injections. Keep a close eye on it for now. If you notice that it gets worse, or you feel any heat in the area, you will want to let your provider know immediately. Good luck and congratulations on your treatment.

Yes, this can be typicall. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Some discomfort is not unusual after fillers especially when the local anesthetic contained in it wears off. Typically it improves over few days.
