Can dermal filler enhance my cleft chin? (Photo)

Question

I have a somewhat receded chin that I would like to bring forward with filler. I have this barely noticible cleft chin that you can see in certain lighting and I'm afraid it will go away with dermal filler. Is there a way to keep, or even enhance it with filler?

Yes, placing fillers in the chin to correct a recessed chin can eliminate the chin cleft. The cleft is caused by the anatomy of your bony chin or more likely in you case, by the attachment of the skin to the underlying dermis. Placing filler in this plane may eliminate the cleft. Using a reversible filler is preferred if this a concern. You might consider a genioplasty procedure for improving the recessed chin while maintaining the chin cleft.

Hi, thank you for posting your question. Dermal filler is a great option to help with some chin projection. There are specific filler products made that help with forming structure, instead of just filling lines. If dont correctly, the placement can enhance the groove if you want as well.
