How long for Restylane to naturally dissolve in non surgical rhinoplasty?

Question

I had restalyn injected in my nose to lessen the appearance of a large dorsal hump. I really like the results and am now considering surgical rhinoplasty for a permanent solution. I want the Restalyne to dissolve naturally before my surgery so my surgeon can accurately operate on my dorsal hump. How long do I have to wait?

Fillers can last anywhere from 6-8 months, but in the nose, a place without a lot of movement, it can last about a year. I believe waiting a few months after Restylane, an experienced cosmetic plastic surgeon can make a good assessment on when a Rhinoplasty can be performed with a natural outcome.best of luck to you..

Thank you for sharing your question. Since there is not much movement in this region of the face, the product can last up to one year. Leave it up to the surgeon to determine when he/she feels comfortable operating. The Restylane can easily be dissolved as well.Good luck,

I am glad that you are pleased with your injections.  You can get an appreciation for how you may look if you decide to get a formal rhinoplasty.  The good news about Restylane in the nose is that it tends to last longer than when it is injected into other areas of the face.  I typically tell my patients that they will notice changes to their nose for up to a year following non surgical rhinoplasty with Restylane.  Hyaluronic acid injections into the nose prior to your formal rhinoplasty consultation may be of some benefit to insure that all of the filler is gone.

Nonsurgical rhinoplasty with filler is an option considered by patients to improve the appearance of the nose with injections. Fillers are long lasting in the nose, anywhere from several months to over a year. Patients typically come on once a year or so for repeat treatment for maintenance. Prior to surgery, plastic surgeons may inject hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. Thank you for your question!  This scenario happens a lot in my officef and I even operated on someone in this same scenario, yesterday.  Prior to non-surgical rhinoplasty, I take pictures of the patient and image them on the computer, then we use Restylane to create the non-surgical profile that they are looking for...kind of as a "trial run" prior to surgical rhinoplasty.  When the patient is ready for the surgical procedure, I have them come in anywhere from 2-7 days before their procedure to get all of the Restylane dissolved so that we can get a good look at what we would like to do in the operating room.  Otherwise, Restylane in the nose can take over a year or more to dissolve on its own.

Filler injections in nasal bridges can last a long time.   Sometimes it will last years.   If a surgical option is being considered, you can have the restylane dissolved with hyaluronidase to get a more accurate picture of the nose's natural shape.   Best of luck.

Thank you for your question. Since there is not much movement in the nose fillers can last about a year. Swelling can typically take up to 2 weeks to resolve and to see your final results. If you unhappy with your results you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. I recommend having a consultation with an expert injector to determine the best treatment plan for you. Filler in the nose can last longer in this region since it is an area of relative immobility. I would recommend waiting a full year before considering a surgical rhinoplasty. At that time, your surgeon can assess if any filler is still present before proceeding with surgery. Rhinoplasty is a delicate surgery where millimeters make a difference so you want to make sure you don't rush into it.

Usually a product like restylane lasts about 6-9 months. It may last a bit longer in the nose as there is not a lot of movement in the area.
