Wide hooked nostrils. Am I a candidate for a non-surgical nose job? (Photo)

Hello,Thanks for your question. Unfortunately if will be difficult to attain what you want with non-surgical rhinoplasty. Use of filler in your nose can accomplish raising and narrowing the appearance of your bridge, and microsculpting the tip. You may be able to camouflage and lower the height of the nostrils, but that is the most difficult part. When somebody has a broad flat nose with flaring nostrils and a droopy underprojected tip, rhinoplasty surgery may be necessary for achieving a desired result. I do not believe fillers would lead to a result that you would find attractive. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

If the nostrils flare with smiling (i.e. upon motion) as you describe, then a tiny droplet of a neuromodulator (such as Botox, Dysport or Xeomin) injected into the base of the nostrils may prove helpful for diminishing the motion-related flare. If there is flattening of the nasal bridge, then the use of a volumizing filler can help to nonsurgically straighten the nose, and occasionally can also secondarily taper the nose by a slight upward pull. You would do well to seek consultation with a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise in performing nonsurgical nose jobs. Best of luck.

Thank you for your question! Fillers are a fantastic way to reshape and contour the nose. Of course, an office consultation would be necessary so you can explain your goals and the doctor can determine which course of action is best. Injections are often used to disguise a slight hump on the bridge of the nose, increase the height of the bridge, or reshape the tip.

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (voluma, restylane, juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose. Surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hi.  So first of all yes you are a good candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty but not for the nostril issue but rather to reshape the bridge and tip.  Overall you can get a nicer nose which will get your attention away from the nostrils.

Unfortunately I don't think you are a candidate for this procedure.While it may help with some aspects of your nose, such as building up the dorsum, it will not help with others. Furthermore, non-surgical rhinoplasty is not a good long term solution for anyone. I find that the soft tissues of the nose thicken and the nose appears wider and bulkier over time after repeated injection. I would also recommend that you ONLY consult with a practitioner who is skilled in both surgical and non-surgical options. You don't want to find yourself in a position where you are convinced to have procedure that is not the best one for you, simply because the clinician can not offer you other alternatives. Hello lilred990, thank you for your pictures. It is hard to say what is going on with the picture you posted. It would be helpful if you could post pictures of your nose during smiling and in neutral. Nasal flaring is normal in most people when they smile. However, if it is excessive or if patients complain that its just too much, then surgery is the best option (again its hard to judge with what you have posted) in some people botox can be used but only a certified doctor should make that judgement. In your last picture you point out that you are also looking for adjustments to the tip/bridge, only surgery will help in that case!

Hi,I dont think you can achieve permanent desired result with non-surgical rhinoplasty. Ethnic is by far the most challenging cosmetic operations in cosmetic surgery. This is because the anatomy and skin thickness requires special techniques to achieve desired results. I recommend looking for a board certified facial plastic surgeon who is experienced in ethnic rhinoplasty. Do your research and look at before and after photos from surgeons and make sure you like the results. Also, ask for computer imaging when you go for a consultation. This will allow you to get an idea of what your nose will look like after the surgery. Send me some photos if you would like to get your photos imaged to give you an idea.
