Nose bridge collapsed & could I fix with rhinoplasty? (Photos)

Good day! I am looking into have a rhinoplasty. When I was a toddler I broke my nose and I have been having trouble breathing ever since. I haven’t had a consultation with a plastic surgeon yet, but I have been told it seems as if my nose’s bridge has collapsed. Could you maybe provide me information with how I could know if that is the case and whether I could fix that with rhinoplasty?

Based on your photos, there is a bump on the nose that can be due to your accident.  I would recommend a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who does a lot of noses.  During the consultation, they will conduct a thorough exam of your nose and be able to answer questions about your airway and whether the inside of your nose is collapsed.  They may get a CT scan to evaluate the bones and airway and decide if the trauma you had as a child affected your breathing or not.  From an aesthetic standpoint, a rhinoplasty can improve the contour of your nasal bridge and make the tip more refined, yielding an overall prettier nose.  Typically, a plastic surgeon will address breathing issues during rhinoplasty, but you can ask during your consultation if that is the case.  I hope that answers your question.

Hi, The old trauma to your nose has caused the bone to heal in a way that has created a bump over the dorsum of your nose. This can be fixed with surgical rhinoplasty. It is better for you to consult with a facial plastic surgeon to better assess you and determine the best option for you.

I would start by seeing a surgeon (who specializes in the face) and having a consultation. They will be able give you answers after a thorough assessment. Seeing as though you had an injury and have breathing problems, there is also a chance the rhinoplasty may be covered by insurance. Getting your breathing fixed should be a priority as well. The number one mistake that would be made with your nose is leaving it too long. I see it in almost every revision rhinoplasty I see. This is extremely common especially with open rhinoplasty. Your tip needs to be lifted a lot and the hump lowered.  In order to shorten the nose septal cartilage and nasal

From your photos, I note that you appear to demonstrate a high nasal bridge with a moderate hump deformity and a drooping nasal tip.
A rhinoplasty will lower the bridge to eliminate the hump (to create a gentle feminine curve), as well as  to lift the nasal tip (increase the angle between the upper lip and the columella).
Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and treatment.
