At this point, you're still very early in your postoperative recovery. It takes several weeks to months for the muscle and skin to adapt to the implant. It takes a little longer if the skin and muscle are very tight and a shorter amount of time if theyve been stretched from pregnancy or breast feeding. The spasms will slowly fade over time.Best wishes,Dr. Jan
This is a very common concern after breast augmentation. I would highly suggest a muscle relaxant such as cyclobenzaprine which can help reduce spasm and chest wall discomfort after surgery.Best of luck!Alex Zuriarrain, MDCleveland Clinic Trained Plastic Surgeon
It is not unusual to still have muscle soreness during the first several weeks after submuscular breast augmentation. Your anatomy is still getting accustomed to the new implant and stretching to accommodate it comfortably. See your surgeon for an examination to assure everything is healing normally.
Congratulations on your recent surgery. Muscle spasms after breast augmentation surgery is very common and normal. These spasms will subside over time as your body adjusts to your new implants. My patients are taught massage of the implant to help calm the muscles down. Advil can help as well. Good luck.
It is fairly common to experience soreness and muscle spasms two weeks post-operation, especially when implants are placed under the muscle, as in your case with 330cc textured gummy teardrop implants. Tight chest muscles, as noted by your surgeon, can contribute to this discomfort due to the added strain from accommodating the implants. Typically, this should gradually improve as your body adjusts to the implants. However, if the pain persists or worsens, it is important to consult with your surgeon to ensure there are no complications affecting your recovery.
Muscle Spasm after Breast Augmentation with sub-muscular placement is extremely common, and should be expected for the first month or so. Consult with your surgeon if your spasms persist. Congratulations and good luck to you.Shahin Fazilat, M.D., FACS

Bretney15, Thank you for your question. It is normal to have pain/spasms especially if your implants are underneath the pectoralis muscle. For this reason we prescribe muscle relaxers- but it is always best to follow up with your plastic surgeon and get an assessment.
It may be normal if you have particularly strong/tight muscles. Sometimes a muscle relaxant can help. You should see your plastic surgeon in person. It is unusual for the incision to be separated and drainage to appear. Please follow your surgeon's instructions or get a second opinion.
A revision is needed in order to correct the nipple position. If desired you can elect to exchange the implants at that time to get you closer to the volume and look you are wanting. I encourage you to visit with your surgeon to discuss your concerns and learn more about your options.
Generally dramatic color changes such as purple, black, or white, and numbness or tingling indicate various possible issues of blood supply being compromised. Other than being uncomfortable and looking unusual, this is a big deal because it indicates that your nipples/areolas might...
