I use an ace wrap on the day of the procedure, remove it the next day,shower  and then wear a support hose for 48 hours.  You can sleep any way you like.  Leg elevation is not necessary but if you feel more comfortable then elevate. There is no need to get up and walk during the night. The day of the procedure I would like you to resume normal activities as soon as possible.  I do no want you to be immobile on that day.

I just wrap with an ace bandage and have my patients take it off the following morning.In some cases, especially in the colder months, we recommend thigh high compression stockings. Resume all exercises the next day except no weight lifting in a gym (no repetitive weight lifting) over 40 pounds for 48 hours.I encourage treadmill, elliptical, etc immediately (1 after after the procedure).Take off ace the next morning and shower and optional to place it on again.Walk 2 minutes every hour until you go to bed. No need to wake up from sleep to walk.Sleep any way you want. No need to elevate.I recommend low dose ibuprofen and a product called Swell-x pt (pt = post treatment) which has a proprietary blend citrus bioflavonoids that help relieve swelling, pain and discomfort.
