10 months post op Facelift and Neck Lift. Do I have a "cobra neck" ? (photos)

No, this is not a cobra-head deformity. You do need a revision of your platysmaplasty and at 10 months your surgeon should be able to improve the situation. A true cobra-head comes from too much liposuction and your problem seems to be a muscle repair problem.

Thanks for your question,After viewing the photos, i do not see a Cobra deformity but as you noticed, there is fullness under your chin. To me it appears as though there is some loose tissue however it is impossible to discuss and diagnose without an examination. I recommend seeing your surgeon or another surgeon for a 2nd opinion. James P. Based on your pictures, you do not have cobra neck deformity. There are excess tissue at jowls area that require revision. I would discuss this with your surgeon. If he is not willing to do a revision, please seek an experienced facelift surgeon.

Thank you for your question about facelift.  It is difficult to tell from pictures only.An in person consultation with a plastic surgeon is necessary.To be sure, see two or more experienced, board-certified Plastic Surgeons for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery.I hope this helps.

 There is too much residual skin on the lateral aspects of the neck that will require surgical revision for correction.

Youhave excess lateral platysma muscle and or fat. This happens occasionally when doing a platysma plasty Because excess platysma muscle or fat is present. Return to your surgeon and he can usually do this procedure under local anesthesia to remove the excess. 

Hi. Lets start by saying that the preferred way to evaluate your problem would be a person to person consultation. Based of you pictures you do not seem to have a cobra deformity problem. I think that you still have some fullness on your lateral platysmal to submental area. This can be corrected easily. Go to your original surgeon for his opinion. It is not possible to delineate all aspects of this post op appearance without a careful examination as well as an evaluatiion of your pre operative photos. You certainly should discuss your concerns with your surgeon if you have not yet done this. I'm certain that some form of revision would improve this appearance.

2. Seek a surgeon who does at least 100 of these procedures per year
