Velashape or lymphatic massage after Vaser Lipo?

Question

I had vaser Lipo done on upper, lower and flanks about 3 weeks ago. I am happy with the results and they took quite a lot of fat (I am 24 yrs old, 60kg) however I have noticed some dimpling in my upper abs and a few bumps - not many. I have booked in for a lymphatic massage but wondering if vela would be better for skin tightening and cellulite? I've had it on my legs before and loved it! Thanks!

Hi, 3 weeks is too soon to see results because some swelling and bruising may persist for 6–8 weeks. It varies greatly between patients. Final #results can usually be seen 2-4 months later as the swelling continues to diminish and contours become more defined, but improvement will continue for 4–6 months as swelling and irregularities resolve. These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery.
Excess #skin would usually shrink back over the area of the body but we now have a number of non surgical devices such as #ThermiSmooth radiofrequency and #VelaShape 3 to help tighten skin after liposuction for patients who will benefit from this additional care. Lymphatic massage is also a good option for recovery after liposuction.
Please do remember that with massive weight gain, #rippling of the skin may occur. The standard diet and exercise strategy is still recommended for maintaining good results of liposuction.

Good Day. Thank you for your excellent and insightful question.The developer of High-Definition Liposuction, Dr Alfredo Hoyos, states that the final aesthetic result depends on about 50% of the postoperative treatment. Although I agree that these treatments are essential to the cosmetic result, the intra-operative skill of the surgeon in determining the amount and anatomical locations for fat removal is paramount.Completing a clinical study using VASERshape (QuantaShape) or noninvasive ultrasound by our office revealed less collections of fluid below the skin (seromas) that can produce an inflammatory response resulting in skin contour irregularities.  Additionally, VASERshape is FDA approved for lymphatic drainage. Patients feel better after the initial treatment (about 7 days from surgery) and look better with the resolving edema. Also, further fat removal and skin tightening occurs.Comparing Velashape (radioferequency, suction and massage) resulted in less of an effect. However, this modality is better than no treatment.Manual massage can be done several times a day and the patients assistants can be trained on the technique. Endermologie is also a very effective lymphatic massage device, although it does not result in more fat removal or skin tightening.Wearing the compression garment with foam is essential to optimize the outcome, especially with the Total Body Definer technique using VASER ultrasound assisted liposuction.
