I'm planning to have a BBL done in late Dec. What have others done as it relates to lymphatic massages post-op and was it covered in your BBL expense or through your insurance ?
Answer: Are lymphatic massages included in BBL pricing? If not, recommendations in Twin Cities area? Hello, thanks for your question and provided information. Many times, they're not, besides that you can ask your surgeon always, some surgeons include many massages in their prices though, good luck!! Advantages: One treatment may be all you need to reshape problem areas Treat more areas—and larger areas—in one procedure May be performed with either local or general anesthesia More consistent and predictable result than noninvasive treatments Liposuction, sometimes referred to as "lipo" by patients, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion. Different areas of treatment: Thighs Hips and buttocks Abdomen and waist Upper arms Back Inner knee Chest area Cheeks, chin and neck Calves and ankles Liposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction or a tummy tuck. What liposuction can do? Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite—the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks—or loose saggy skin.

Answer: Find the right surgeon Ideal candidates are at a stable weight, in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions. Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells. Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.

Answer: Are lymphatic massages included in BBL pricing? If not, recommendations in Twin Cities area? I do not recommend lymphatic massage as I have seen complications with this and I want the result I create on the table to remain unaltered.

Answer: Massages post BBL Thanks for your questions. After the BBL procedure, massage to the liposuction areas (donor site) is recommended to help soften those areas and minimize scarring. You should leave the buttock site (where the fat is injected) alone to allow for revascularization. Thats the reason why BBL patients avoid sitting post surgery. You should follow your board certified plastic surgeon's post-op instructions. Insurance will not cover your BBL and most likely not the massage as well. All the best!
