I do not recommend lymphatic massages for my patients after liposuction and BBL. Carefully orchestrate any lymphatic messages with your plastic surgeon.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Lymphatic Massage is done to help make your swelling go away quicker. It is not required and does not change your results. It just helps minimize your swelling. I personally do not recommend this to my patients unless their swelling is severe.
Each surgeon is different in terms of post-op care. I do not routinely recommend massage after a BBL. Best to ask your surgeon his specific post-op instructions.
Hello and thank you for the question. Lymphatic massage is not a requirement after liposuction, but it does help. I typically have patients work on this after all the bruising has resolved. Typically 2+ weeks after surgery. If done too early, it can cause more bruising as the body has not had time to begin healing yet. Anytime you do lipo, there is always a risk of having lumpiness, irregularity, and unevenness. In the majority of cases, this is not a significant problem and will often improve / resolve over time.Remember that some of the fat that is transferred does not survive. Typically about 70% of the fat lasts long term. As always it is best to be healthy, no smoking, and to make sure any health care concerns you have are managed by your primary care doctor.Best to you#brazilianbuttlift
