I'm very self conscious of my face shape and would love to change it in some way or the other but I'm overwhelmed trying to figure out which route to go. I know my goal pic might be a bit too ambitious but anything that could get me even near it would be very appreciated. I have a bit of excess weight on my face but not a crazy amount and even when I'm super thin my face is very round. Any suggestions?
Answer: The right procedure for you Without an exam your question cannot be answered. You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. Here is some information to help you make this decision: Candidates for Chin Augmentation - Patients whose chin profiles are weak but have normally functioning jaws are candidates for Chin Augmentation. Many of these candidates have used injectable fillers in the past to strengthen the protrusion of their chins, but are looking for a permanent solution. If you are one of these patients, then you are a likely candidate for chin augmentation

Answer: Reducing wide cheeks At times the muscles in the cheeks and jawline can become prominent, giving a wide faced appearance. These muscles can be bulky and especially in women, can produce an unwanted masculine jawline. Botox injections work nicely to minimize the bulging of the cheeks, and much smoother more feminine jaw.

Answer: Lower face contouring What you are requesting is a common question and a desired aesthetic goal for a lot of patients. There are several things you can do that will incrementally will get you closer to your goals. Generally, we like to create defined cheek bones which will make the lower face narrower. Also shrinking the muscles with Botox can help narrow the lower face as well (requires some times and continued treatment). Another option is contouring the bony jaw surgically. The last option is some micro-liposuction along the jaw line in some people can be helpful as well. Discuss this with a surgeon who does jaw contouring and see which option(s) are suitable for you. Best Wishes

Answer: V shaped face Your request is certainly not unusual for many of our patients and relates to altering the contour of the lower jaw, including perceived 'height' of the chin area. The overlying soft tissue generally follows the reduced contour of the bone especially at a younger age. The surgery is performed from inside the mouth and can be reviewed with xray images.

Answer: Right procedure to alter my (very) round face shape, giving me a more feminine, sharp "V" shape? Hi, I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin appears to be weak however, this is confirmed with a non smiling profile photo. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. From the photos, your cheeks are a bit flat in the front, the chin is weak as mentioned above as are the back portions of the jaw line. These combine to create an elongated, oval shaped face. Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face. Liposuction can be combined to further shape the cheeks and face. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin is weak. The back portion of your jaw line can be augmented, without making your face appear masculine, using precise placement of a dermal filler (I prefer using Restylane Lyft). Hope this helps.
