It's always best to be close enough to your surgeon for follow-up. Video imaging would be useful to convey to the surgeon what is desirable and plan a suitable operative strategy. The surgeon will be able to determine if your aesthetic goals are reasonable.

I would recommend waiting at least 6 weeks before wearing your tight motorcycle helmet, as I would be concerned that it could put too much pressure on your recently placed chin implant.  You could check with your particular surgeon to see if their opinion is any different.  

Without the benefit of a complete exam, have a friend take a profile picture of you in a relaxed position, then move your jaw forward and ask them to take another or several photos. This should give you an idea of what your profile would look like with a genioplasty of chin implant. Good luck!
