Facial treatments can be done immediately following the Voluma injections if the facial is being done by someone who understands the way Voluma is applied. That being said, I still typically suggest that a facial or other treatment be postponed for a day or two because there can be some mild discomfort from the injections. If you are ok with that, then enjoy the facial whenever you would like. Best regards
Hello, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. It’s generally recommended to wait at least 2 weeks after receiving filler in the cheeks before getting a facial. Filler takes about 2 weeks to settle.
I normally tell my patients to wait 7 days after Voluma before having a facial. However, I would ask the physician who performed your injection to be certain what they reccommend.
Thank you for your question. Due to swelling and possible bruising we encourage patients to wait a few days due to sensitivity in the area of injection. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeons office for the treatment plan that is best for you.
A facial does not affect filler injections. I would not inject through acne break-outs or sores. There are really no other restrictions with filler injections.
While Voluma placement and shifting should not be problem as long as your facial esthetician understands where it was done and to be careful around the area, Voluma may cause some bruising, swelling, or discomfort for a few days following treatment. Each person is different, so I would recommend asking your treating physician what their preference is based on the location they injected. I typically encourage my patients to wait 2 weeks before having a deep facial massage, or significant extractions after having Voluma injections.
Voluma is a long-lasting injectable filler which is hyaluronic acid gel. It is commonly injected in the upper outer cheek region to help volumize the midface area. The gel is typically injected deep to the facial soft tissue and on the bone in the upper cheek region. There can be swelling and bruising which could be aggravated with early skin manipulation, let alone it may be uncomfortable. I typically recommend holding off on any skin manipulation in this are for at least one week. Ice applied to the area of injection during the first 48 hours after the injection can help limit swelling and bruising.
Thank you for your question. Because of the series of injections that Voluma tends to involve, I ask patients to wait roughly 24 hours before having additional procedures performed on their facial skin. Though the risk of an infection, or displacement of the filler, is small, why risk it?
It doesn't matter, you can have a facial the same day, but I would warn your Esthetician not to massage too deeply for a few days after your Voluma.
I would wait about 2-5 days. Sometimes you get some swelling or bruising after injectables and the facial- depending on how it's done- can exacerbate this.
In the posterior jaw over the masseter muscle, I prefer sculptra injections for this very reason. Sculptra grows your own collagen over time and lasts more than 2 years. The effect is gradual and natural appearing over the masseter. For the lower face, I recommend...
Unlike botox that is priced per unit, Voluma (and many other fillers) are usually priced per syringe. This means that no matter how much product is needed to give you the result that you are trying to achieve, the entire syringe is yours. This is because syringes can’t be shared amongst p...
Volumetric fillers are volume dependent and need to be precisely injected in the correct volume to achieve the desired effect. Additional filler in the upper cheek region can help volumize this area which can smooth lines and treat malar creases. Juvederm could be injected for additional...
I suggest seeing a ENT for an evaluation and of course speaking to your injector. Pain is not normal after filler injections. Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi @veronicamessi! I would recommend waiting two weeks for the product to settle in. If you are still unhappy after the two weeks, I recommend dissolving the filler with Hylenex. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for your question and photographs and I am sorry to hear about your Voluma issues. Hyaluronidase starts to work immediately at dissolving the filler, and reaches max effect after about 2 days. Occasionally, multiple doses are needed to dissolve all the filler, and it can...
