Is rhinoplasty permanent, or does it change as you age?

When a rhinoplasty is done, the shape on the nose will last for many years, but there are some changes with the aging mainly in the soft tissues, like the skin, that can get wrinkles, or can get thinner or thicker, as everybody has a different way to age. Also in some patients there are changes in the nose from the action of the facial muscles on the nose and loss of volume in some areas, specially in the ala area, where it tends to be some alar retraction as we age.

  Hi, Rhinoplasty should create a more naturally attractive nose by shaping the nasal bones and cartilages.  The changes are permanent and your nose will not develop loose wrinkled skin, grow a dorsal hump or make additional tip cartilage volume however, post op scar tissue may accumulate in the supra-tip region making the tip appear wide.  There are ways to prevent this from occurring.  Hope this helps.
