PRP hair - does side effect include brain fog? 7 weeks post op.

PRP is superficial and won't go all the way to the brain. In some cases it might hit a nerve and give you numbness, however those semptoms you mentioned are not PRP side effects.

Thank you for posting this question. PRP procedures are not known to be associated with brain fog. However, brain fog is an uncommon but known side-effect of the medication finasteride, which is taken for hair loss. If you have also started taking that medication as well, then I would look there as the source of brain fog. It happens rarely with the medication. I hope this information is helpful to you.

The brain fog you are feeling has nothing to do with your PRP injection.If you have persistent symptoms you should follow up with your primary care Dr.

I have never heard a patient report "brain fog" after a PRP injection,Even if there was damage to those nerves (which I doubt) that should not cause any change in mentation.By any chance did you recently start Propecia/Finasteride ?

This would not be a typical symptom of PRP unless it was prepared or administered in an unusual manner. Nevertheless, the symptoms you describe are concerning and you may want to review all the potential causes of brain fog and clouded, less clear thinking with your physician.

I do not believe these are related at all.  I would recommend you see your primary care physician to ensure there is not a medical issue you are having.  Good luck.

Hi  RAE10, I'm so sorry that you are experiencing these symptoms. The brain fog is not associate per se, with PRP. Injections of PRP are on a superficial level and does not ever cross the blood-brain barrier. Please see oyur doctor to check of any medications are causing these symptoms.All the best,Justin Harper, M.D.
