I've noticed lines in my upper cheeks from sleeping, smiling, and volume loss from working out and having children! lol My derm said Volift and voluma.. I get regular Botox, ( in need of a refresh ;) but haven't gotten any fillers yet! I'm 35 and want to look like myself, just better without the "housewife" look. What fillers should I get and how many syringes do I need roughly? I am also considering Botox in my massiter muscle...how long will it take to soften my jaw?
Answer: Tear Trough and Crow's Feet Based on your pictures I would recommend targeting the lateral canthal lines, or crow's feet, more aggressively with Botox as the lines become very apparent when you animate/smile. Your lower lines do extend fairly low onto the cheek so care should be taken to avoid paralyzing the nearby zygomaticus major muscle responsible for smile symmetry. Beyond that you can try filling those fine lines in that area that remain, though I would first start by resurfacing with either a chemical peel or laser. PRP with micro needling treatment has also been effective in treating fine lines in this area. Next, I would recommend starting with no more than 1 syringe total of either Belotero or Restalyne Silk for tear trough filling as it appears you have lost some volume in this area. Usually 0.3-0.4cc is all that is needed per side. Finally, I would have you clench your teeth to examine your masseter but you probably do not have masseteric hypertrophy which would make Botox in this area not necessary. Overall you have a nice and relatively angular facial shape and I would not add excessive product at this point.

Answer: What kind of filler should I get around my eyes and mouth? How many units of Botox in Jaw? Thanks Happylife. I really like the new Restylane products Refyne and Defyne. These are new and created more natural looking results when compared to the fillers that I have worked with in the past. Because they're new, you should be sure to have an injector which training and certification in these new fillers.I also prefer Dysport over Botox because it seems to last a bit longer with good results in most of my patients. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Answer: Filler and Botox Thank you for your question. From your pictures, I would consider regular Botox for your crow's feet, rather than filler. Botox in this area could also address the upper cheek lines, while ensuring to avoid the zygomaticus muscle which assists in smiling. A formal assessment would be able to determine if you have massiter hypertrophy - however, results are usually seen within 1-3 months, and improve with continuing Botox use. All the best.
