I really love this actress called Kaya Scodelario, especially her nose. I was wondering if it would be possible to fix my big nose into something quite similar to hers. I love how her nose turns up and the little \ / shape it has and how the profile is straight. Would it be possible to get a nose job so mine can be like hers?
Answer: Could I change my big, humped and pointy nose into a turned up, smaller nose with a straight nose bridge? Rather than trying to look like someone else, it is important understand what can and cannot be accomplished with your nose in order to be in harmony with your other facial features. Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an examination and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique.Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (CSAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla, California

Answer: My comments To begin with, the wished model of nose you have posted is undisputably a mess, a disaster of rhinoplasty, piggy, upturned, pinched, bulbous, bad dorsum, fake and a true collection of anatomical misjudgements and technical errors... such a botch deserves either full revision... and if never operated on nose then she needs a full ethnic rhinoplasty to correct the following: -short nose syndrome -piggy nose -broad radix due to broad frontal spine of the nose -boxy tip -pinched middle vault This means you should not be misguided and biased by the admiration to the sex-appeal of celebrities, this commonly leads to wrong self-judgements about your own beauty; try to be yourself and be realistic: if you requested a botched nose-job for you... you run a real risk of finding a guy willing to please you for his fees. I might be wrong, but from the images posted I guess you are a patient in seek of revision to fix one (or many ones) previous rhinoplasty, of evident poor results; from your own images your problems are the following: -severe alar rim retraction with septal exposure, in need of batten and caudal extension grafts to restore or replace the support of the lateral cruras -poorly defined tip which additionally seems poorly supported, treatment can be columellar struts and/or tip (Sheen's) or shield grafting -poorly managed dorsum I strongly advise you seek the opinion or a true good expert in complex rhinoplasties, and follow his suggestions to fix your nose. Regarding a certain grade of customization, aka "backorder nose", this is feasible only for masters in ethnic and complex noses; you have to be realistic, your nose can't be chosen from a stockpile catalogue, notwithstanding it is feasible to make it alike or close to the style of certain celebrity... but please... a beautiful one! Better images are required to assess your dorsum and profile. Feel free to request any additional information from me.

Answer: Could I change my big, humped and pointy nose into a turned up, smaller nose with a straight nose bridge? Hi there, while Kaya Scodelario certainly has a nice nose, which fits her face, it may not be realistic to transplant that onto your face. I recommend an in person consultation with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon for complete facial evaluation in order to determine if what you are looking for is realistic and reasonable. Computer imaging can be very helpful as well. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Could I change my big, humped and pointy nose into a turned up, smaller nose with a straight nose bridge? Digital computer imaging performed on your nose would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with your anatomy of your nose on your face. It's impossible to give someone a celebrity nose. It's also very important not to over rotate the tip upwards, therefore you will be looking down the nostrils and have a piggish appearance. Rhinoplasty is a difficult endeavor, so choose your surgeon very wisely. It's extremely important have a natural appearing nose. Answer: Rhinoplasty Candidate Dear the fauxslimshady, The changes you discuss wanting with your nose can be achieved with rhinoplasty surgery. Imaging would be a better tool to show you the proposed changes to your nose taking into consideration your nasal anatomy and not another persons. The nose that you have picked out is over shortened and rotated and would not look aesthetically pleasing or balance well with your facial aesthetics. With that said, you should have a very beautiful nose with the changes you want in the hands of an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. See an example of a similar nose seven days post surgery in the video above and many examples in the link below. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
