Rhinoplasty Painkillers and essentials. I will be going abroad for rhinoplasty soon.

I will be going alone I will be away from home hence nobody to care for me. What is the best form of painkiller over the counter in the UK that is used to fight pain and make it more bearable? Apart from mediocre things like Ibuprofen. Also, what are the essentials needed for aftercare of rhinoplasty. ie ice face packs, drinking water (dry mouth)Lastly how long after rhinoplasty can you smoke ( I know this is terrible to ) Thank you in advance to all the doctors that reply !!!!

The shape of the nose is the shape of the architecture. In order to change your nasal shape you will have to have strong grafting to the nose ie. Cartilage. The nostrils can be thinned but the skin itself cannot be thinned much because it injures the blood supply and can cause complications.

In performing rhinoplasty today most of the changes we make are measured in millimeters. That's because we don't just reduce the nose anymore but we structure the nose to give it balance in the face and don't sacrifice function for cosmesis.

I am sorry to hear you are not breathing as well after surgery compare to before.  You should ask your surgeon to evaluate the nose for any potential obstructions that can be addressed either surgically or non-surgically.
