Thank you for your question regarding whether it is possible to have an arm lift combined with a hip and thigh liposuction. In my opinion, it is possible to have an arm lift, brachioplasty, arm reduction, at the same time as hip and thigh liposuction. You may need some assistance for the first several days to help you around the house. After approximately 2 to 3 days, you should be able to be on your own. Combining lower extremity liposuction with an arm lift is acceptable for most of my patients. However, I rarely if ever, suggest undergoing an arm lift, brachioplasty, arm reduction, at the same time as undergoing a thigh lift. The post-operative course is too difficult for patients. Ambulation and putting garments on and pulling them off is very difficult if you have a combined arm and thigh lift. I hope that I have answered your questions regarding whether it is possible to have an arm lift and thigh and hip liposuction at the same time. If you have any more questions regarding an arm lift, brachioplasty, arm reduction, thigh liposuction, hip liposuction, or plastic surgery in general, please contact my office. Provided you are a good candidate and medically cleared, combining arm lift with hip and thigh liposuction should be easy.An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to confirm this as well as discuss your options and expectations.
Hello, It is not uncommon to combine more than one cosmetic surgery procedure, such as arm lift plus liposuction on another part of the body. You would need to have an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon to determine your goals, exactly what needs to be done and time involved, plus your overall health. All of these factors are important in determining whether any combined cosmetic procedures can safely be performed at the same time.
As long as you have a caregiver to assist you the first few days following your surgery, it is no problem to have an arm lift in conjunction with lipo to hips/thighs. Your plastic surgeon will recommend compression garments to provide comfort and support and aid in the healing process, but you will want to have assistance with getting up and down.
Dear myjourney2019,I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello! Thank you for your question. It depends on the amount of fat in your hips and thighs. If there is no a lot of fat, Arm lift and Hips+Thighs liposuction can be performed at the same time. I need your photos for a medical examination.Best regards,Dr. Sibel Atalay
Liposuction of the hips and thighs along with an arm lift can be performed at the same time in a healthy patient. Be sure to consult with a board certified PS who performs these procedures frequently with great results.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
If you are in good health and your surgeon is comfortable doing these procedures together, you should do fine. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Hello! Thank you for your question. The decision to perform multiple elective aesthetic procedures at the same time comes down to three things: (1) the health of the patient; (2) the duration/length of the overall surgery; and (3) the plastic surgeon. In other words, the answer would be "no" if the patient is unhealthy, the resulting surgery would be prolonged (which could place even a healthy patient at elevated risk for complications), or the plastic surgeon is not comfortable with performing the proposed procedures in one stage. For these reasons, it is essential that you schedule a consultation with a plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in-person, address your concerns, and tailor an individualized treatment plan for you and your aesthetic goals. Best of luck! Matthew A. DelMauro, M.D
It is certainly possible to combine these two procedures into one combined plastic surgery. Doing so can help cut back on overall recovery time and costs associated with your surgery. However, not every patient is necessarily a good candidate to combine multiple procedures in one session, so it’s important to first discuss this with your board-certified plastic surgeon.
The best thing you can do to optimize healing after an arm lift is to closely follow your surgeon's post op instructions and keep all post op appointments. Avoid strenuous activity until cleared. Eat a healthy, balanced diet with adequate protein. I've included a video with nutrition tips...
Hi and welcome to our forum! A liposuction procedure of the upper arms removes fat only, while a brachioplasty removes excess skin and underlying fat. If there is a significant amount of fat present (with its associated added weight), if the skin demonstrates no evidence...
Hi there and thank you for your question regarding if you can take your blood pressure 3 weeks post-op of a brachioplpasty. I realize that this answer may be a bit late, being that your question was asked in 2019 but I figured I'd answer it anyway. I do not recommend you take your blood pressure...
