I visited Dr. Whiteman in an effort to turn back the clock on my face. Dr. Whiteman introduced me to Defenage, and the results have been AMAZING! Not only have I noticed, but Friends/Family have as well as complete strangers who do not believe I am a 40 year old mother of 3. I get asked frequently for "my secret", it's Defenage....Thank you Dr. Whiteman!
I’ve wanted to have a breast reduction forever! I never considered it an insurance approved procedure so I never looked into it. I figured hey, a plastic surgeon does it and it’s cosmetic. So one day. I had a consultation with his office in the beginning of April 2019 and it was insurance approved 2 weeks later. Dr. Whiteman is a sweetheart and he knows what he’s doing! His office staff is great too. Thank you again Dr. Whiteman for giving me this chance. #NoMoreBackAndNeckPain Updated on 21 May 2019: I’ve been wanting a breast reduction for years. Like most of you. I finally got up the nerve to have a consultation, and after doing some research on the list of in network doctors with my incidence, Dr. Whiteman stood out. The consultation was quick. He confirmed that YES I need a breast reduction. His office manager? Beth, initially she was a little more stern. She reminded me that 90 percent insurance says no, they can take over a month to POSSIBLY approve, if at all, and that they(my insurance) when I call, will tell me the doctors office hadn’t sent them any thing, etc etc. so I took that as a sign to leave it alone. I never called, never inquired, and just went back to my normal life, assuming I wouldn’t get approved. 2 weeks later, BCBS sent me an approval letter in the mail and Beth called me morning after the letter to confirm i was approved. My surgery was a week later. Dr. Whiteman made me feel comfortable. He really did. He was warm, answered all my questions, and my new boobs looks great! This was the most invasive surgery I’ve ever had so far so my recovery was rocky, but i was ok within 3 weeks. I love my breasts. And when I’m ready, or if I choose to, I’ll surely return to Southern Plastic Surgery for some lipo or maybe even a Tummy tuck. Thank you so much Dr. Whiteman and staff. And even though Beth was my main contact (she was great as well and very helpful) the rest of the staff were great as well.
I am a month post-op from a tummy tuck, back lift and breast lift. I could not have asked for a more positive experience from my first consult till now. My results are already better than I had hoped, especially the breast lift. I am so thankful I used Dr. Whiteman!
23 years ago I was in a car accident and broke almost every bone in my face. I have absolutely no visible scars thanks to Dr. Whiteman. In three weeks I’m getting a full mommy makeover with Dr. Whiteman and I can’t wait. I have absolutely no worry in the world because he is the BEST!
Omg I love Dr Whiteman....he has a great spirit and personality. After several consultations with other doctors....I didnt get a warm feeling from them. But with Dr Whiteman....I felt a doctor who cares about his patients and took the time to talk and explain everything with me. No rush or anything....very knowledgeable...of course he's been in doing this for over 20years lol. I had a breast augmentation and absolutely love my results. Surgery was good along with his staff. I'm a little over 2weeks postop...no issues at all. I've already recommended 2 people who have consults scheduled. I will rate him a 10+.
I’ve become increasingly self conscious when taking photos as they she neck rolls on an otherwise nice picture. Decided to do something about it. Was looking for least invasive procedure, no real downtime. Procedure on a Thursday afternoon, took about 30-40 minutes. For the most part, easy breezy. Updated on 21 May 2018: Feeling the same, low pain, more like soreness with the wrap. Staying on top of pain meds. It's itchy at the band-aid. Kept the wrap on most of the day and evening, through the night. I didn't expect the results to be this good this soon, even with swelling. Updated on 21 May 2018: Upon removing the band from overnight, noticed more swelling, cheeks are puffy and definitely more bruising. Pain is even less, which mainly hurts when turning my neck to quickly or something. Stopped pain meds. I actually did some ice pads to help with the swelling. Hope it wasn't too soon but I didn't do it long. Still wearing band indoors and staying in. Had to cancel Saturday night plans of course. Didn't want to explain bruises on my neck. Updated on 21 May 2018: Doing a little massage when I take the band off. I definitely sleep in it, but I have to give my cheeks a break during the day for little bits of time. Noticed the bruises on my chest became a little more visible. I'm like, when did that happen? Not sure if I'll be going into the office tomorrow with these bruises. I do have work from home occasionally, which I did last week but I think I'm gonna have to sit out a couple more days for sure. Updated on 21 May 2018: Well, it was a no go for going into the office! I will work from home another day and I have to go in. I stood in natural light and wow, the bruising is definitely prominent. Can't say I see any change so I'll document less often after today. I just wanted the first 5 days for the realist expectations. I promise to have myself more together in future photos, this is for real for real post surgery, rolling straight out of the bed. Updated on 29 May 2018: Today was my first doctor follow up appt. So, results are just ok to me but I do know that it’s early. Doc thinks I look unexpectedly well for 13 days since procedure. I fell ok, still a little numb and tight, but better than it has been. Doc thinks jaw line is coming in, I just see swelling. He recommends that I get a facial package/rejuvenation treatments where they will massage away the firm part. Eh, more money but I’m going to do it because I need this to be the best outcome possible. I’ll update my total lipo price to include this step. Said to wait at least a week, said massage will hurt too much if I go now so I’ll schedule for late next week if they are available. Updated on 11 Jun 2018: Well I’m trying hard to be patient but I’m not as happy as I want to be, 3 weeks later. Not gonna sweat yet but I have an event vacay in July, and basically I’ll be 7 weeks post procedure. I’ve got that roll, I guess it’s scar tissue, that isn’t going away quick enough. I’m almost afraid that it won’t go away. ???? I’m massaging daily. Not sure what else to do. I follow up with doctor 06.26.18. He wanted me to for a massage service at his facility, additional $400, was trying hard to not spend that money before my vacation. Geesh. Otherwise, getting more feeling back in the area. ???????? I’ll check in by my July vacay time to give it couple more weeks. Updated on 26 Jun 2018: Not too shabby for 6 weeks post procedure. Doctor seemed genuinely stunned, thinks I look great for this stage of healing. Still emphasizing that I have 4-5 months before I will see true results. He also is still recommending that I pay for a facial rejuvenation but timing on finances are not going to allow that so I’ll continue massaging myself! I’m no scheduled to see him again until September 20, 2018, which is 18 weeks post procedure, or 4.5 months. I should be very happy by then. Stay tuned. Updated on 26 Jun 2018: Updated on 21 Jul 2018: They say it takes up to 6 months for complete contouring to take place. I’m at almost 2.5 months so maybe this is my halfway point. I’m pleased but I still have a soft roll of something under my chin. I try to massage it when sitting around at home. I did not go to a cosmetic massage center. May decide in a month if I will spend another $400. Updated on 31 Oct 2018: I actually followup with my doctor tomorrow as we’ve been rescheduling my 5 month visit for a couple of weeks. At this time, there is very faint numbing. I believe this is the final look that I’ll get from this procedure. I’m not unhappy but I also think the reality is, it is what it is. Definitely a difference but I’m also about to turn 55 and skin elasticity is different st this age. Here are photos from today. I probably won’t post again until my 1 year anniversary, though they say 6 months is full or complete healing.
The journey to tighten my face began over year ago, after I went to South Korea for V-line surgery. The surgery left me with loose skin especially in my middle and lower face region. Although it was not noticeable to others, I knew it wouldn’t get better with age so I decided to nip it in the bud before it became very noticeable. I tried various minimally invasive procedures such as PDO threads and facetite. Nothing really worked. I felt like I needed an inch pinched on both sides of my face. I consulted multiple doctors and they all agreed that I was not a candidate for a facelift and most didn’t have any relevant alternative options. I started down the rabbit hole of considering cheek implants or fillers but ... in the end, I decided more prominent cheeks is not the look I really wanted. Dr David Whiteman was confident in his ability to make me happy. He suggested a mini lift that would give me a ponytail effect. The ponytail lift would give me what I wanted without unsightly surgical scars in front of my ears. Sounded good to me! I’ve had many surgeries in the past and he’s the only doctor that actually gave me an Arnica kit for postoperative swelling and bruising which I thought was a very nice touch! I am four days postop and haven’t had any significant swelling , bruising or pain. I have slight swelling in small area which I had fatgrafted to my jaw line. This is the only surgical procedure I’ve had in my life that has been virtually pain-free. The pull on the sides of my face feels very comfortable and natural. It actually feels kind of good... in a weird way. I have been able to sleep just fine without waking up in discomfort or pain. So far my recovery has been a breeze Updated on 5 Mar 2018: Oh it felt sooo good! OK I must admit that I’ve been scared to wash my hair. I get visions in my head of my stitches popping open and my fairytale ending coming to dismal halt The doctor told me he use some sort of super glue over the stitches. I have had liquid stitches in the past and the wound popped open so I’ve been traumatized.. but the liquid glue Dr Whiteman used is Obviously very different. I swear my sideburns feel hard as stone. BTW, my sideburns are numb. Can’t feel em. I’m starting to wonder if I should’ve washed my hair earlier so that the glue will be soft in time for my stitches to be removed Wednesday. If the glue remains this hard, I can only imagine the stitch removal will be the worst part of this whole experience. Then again my sideburns are numb sooo perhaps I won’t feel anything at all. Wouldn’t I be so lucky. Updated on 7 Mar 2018: I woke up and noticed small specks of blood on my pillow. I’m a side & belly sleeper so sleeping on my back is rough sometimes... I’m going to do my best to keep that area dry & only clean with witch hassle tonight Even though it was only specks of blood I’m still concerned because I get my stitches removed tomorrow and the wound still has a long way to heal. Parts of the wound are being pulled tight. What in earth will happen when the constraints are removed under all that tension? I just hope my face doesn’t burst open! Updated on 8 Mar 2018: It like 98% didn’t hurt :) Dr W explained I have deep dissolvable stitches, removable external stitches, and glue. The removable external is one long stitch that gathers the skin and creates the look sorta like a drawstring on oversized sweatpants. After the stitch was removed, I could visibly see less tension on the skin but it’s become a gross scab. It’s going to take a minute before I see how the skin changes. After two weeks, the doctor suggested a facial rejuvenation package that includes: three silk peel rejuvenation treatments and one lymphatic drainage massage
My experiences with Dr. Whiteman and his staff have been so at-ease and comfortable. I've had three surgeries over six years and I have total confidence in the information I receive before a surgery and confidence in my aftercare. Surgeries have always been easy with only minor discomfort afterwards. When I walk into his offices I feel like I'm seeing family members I have not seen in a long time. They make you feel right at-home. I 100% recommend Dr. Whiteman. Of course attitude is a very important part of your outlook and will make a difference in how you view the staff you have chosen. With a great attitude, you can't go wrong with Dr. Whiteman.
Dr Whiteman is just the right blend of kind and informative. He and his staff gave me all the information I needed before, during and after my liposuction. He personally called me the night after my surgery to see how I was doing and to answer any questions. I was impressed. I had a great experience and result.
This experience with my Mommy makeover has been a great one. I've had surgery in the 2016 I had a BBL Fat transfer in Stone Mountain Georgia but I was advised then a Tummy tuck would be needed for my ideal results, Unfortunately I didn't have enough money to cover the procedure at the time and man am I glad I had a amazing journey looking here on REALSELF for my doctor and I found the BEST doctor in the south hands down DR. DAVID WHITEMAN I found him ok here through REALSELF because I am a member and I can see the doctors before and after work I noticed he's well over qualified back in November 2016 i reached out to his assistant Jackie and sent my consultation photos and she sent me back my quote of $10,900 from that moment I had my quote until last week I've been planning to have my surgery ! I set my date on 06/03/2017 and they confirmed my surgery would be Wednesday 06/07/2017 at 11:30 am I was more than excited before my surgery on Monday I had a full body detox colon cleanse foot detox and infrared sauna I'm sure that was why I had an easier healing process as well. The day before Surgery I went to my doctor and he got my prescriptions and had to get an authorized override from South Carolina and they approved it the morning of my surgery so instead of paying $250 for 3 prescriptions I paid $3.20 per prescription it was a total of $10.29 for medicine when I received my prescriptions the morning of my surgery I went straight to GWINETT MEDICAL OUT PATIENT right after I got my medicine. I arrived at 11:11 am and they checked me in by 12 pm Dr. Whiteman came in to do my markings after they did my iV and I met with the anesthesiologist , Surgery was a success and they finished that evening around 6 or 7 pm I remember my Dr coming in my recovery room and me mustering up enough energy to shake his hand and tell him he changed my life I remember him calling me a sweet girl and left the room his bedside manner is AMAZING!!! My childs father came to pick me up shortly after that and they made him watch videos on how to take the Catheter out of me the next morning and how to give me my blood thinner shots in my leg daily. We got in the car and went straight back to Greenville SC I could of stayed at my child's father mother house who lived in Atlanta and I stayed at her house the night before surgery but decided not to go back to her house because it was a hour Into atlanta passed Duluth and it made more sense to leave out of Atlanta because at 6 and 7 pm who wants to drive into Atlanta it took an hour and 30 min to get home from Duluth Georgia and once home I came in and sat in the lazy boy and got comfortable because I knew the lazy boy was gone be my new best friend for the upcoming week and it was lol ! I was sent hom with a total of four drains two up top for my breast lift and two below in my pelvic for my tummy tuck pain was an understatement but I was given promethazine and hydrocodone to tolerate it a week later I had my first appointment back at SOUTHERN PLASTIC SURGERY and it was finally drain removal day which is bitter sweet because before when I had my bbl it hurt like the Dickens when they pulled my drains out of me this time I honestly can say it wasn't that bad on a scale from 1-10 it was about a 4. Once drains where removed dr. Whiteman came in and discussed any unanswered questions I had and Also told me what's the best option with me returning to work. This man is more than a doctor he is honestly a new found friend him Jackie Beth and his assistant Hannah are all angels if I could do it all over I would as long as SOUTHERN PLASTIC SURGERY was my doctor. Thanks Doc your an amazing man and I promise I will take care of this body you designed so perfectly !
Here in the US, the most fat that can be removed during a single liposuction procedure is 5 liters. This is true regardless of the area that is treated. While I’m not sure what the standard is in Mexico, I often warn my patients that traveling abroad for plastic surgery is strongly discouraged. Not every country has the same standard for patient safety and operating room sanitation that we do in the US. In order to promote the safest-possible experience, I strongly recommend having your procedure performed domestically.
The amount of visible scarring after male breast reduction surgery can vary from patient to patient. It depends on several factors including the amount of breast tissue, excess skin, and fat that is removed during the procedure. However, scarring after this procedure is typically minor. During surgery, I make the smallest incisions possible and place them in hard to see areas to help reduce the visibility of post-procedure scars. If an incision needs to be made around the areola, it blends seamlessly into the color change. In my experience, the vast majority of patients are extremely satisfied with their overall male breast reduction results and level of scarring.
Combining a breast lift procedure with fat transfer to the breast can definitely be done and can provide outstanding results. However, it’s important to note that the increase in breast size that is provided with fat transfer will be modest compared to the increase that breast implants can provide. I recommend speaking with a board-certified plastic surgeon to better understand all of your potential options.
You can absolutely undergo a tummy tuck without muscle tightening. That portion of the procedure is recommended, but not mandatory. For patients like yourself who are only interested in removing loose, excess skin (and possibly some fat) from the abdomen, a tummy tuck can definitely still help.
Breast Implants are very safe. Although there were some concerns related to textured breast implants last year, the incidence of such issues is incredibly low. As long as you are a good candidate for this procedure and your surgery is performed by an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon, I would recommend breast augmentation. If you are still concerned, you may prefer to use a non-textured breast implant during your surgery.
