Afterbreast implant surgery, I advise the patients to take one week off from work. At that point we take out their stitches and teach them the implantmassage technique. We suggest 5 times per day with the massage and no brafor one month. The patients may return to work, but may not engage in anystrenuous activity. At one month, the patients start to wear a soft cupbra with no underwire and can start low impact cardio. At two months theycan wear an underwire bra and engage in more strenuous physical activity. Breast massage continues forever, although only once per day.
Thank you very much for this interesting enquire.Postoperative care after a BA are very important to get the best results.Generally speaking, the average Breast Augmentation patients, exercises tend to allow two weeks after PO, gradually: first, gentle walks without sweating, then, you can go to the gym to do aerobics, and, after four months you can stats with machines excercise and start with light weights, and, if there are no problems, only six months after PO may charge "free weights".Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol C.-
I have two Triple Crown bodybuilders in my cosmetic breast surgery practice. They started upper and lower body Smith machine workouts at six weeks with no problem. I did advise them to start light at first and allow two weeks to get back to their full weight workout. Since you're over two months post-op, I'd tell you full speed ahead if you were my patient. For more information on this and related topics, I recommend a plastic surgery Q&A book like "The Scoop On Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts the Myths."
You are at approximately 9 weeks post op, so moderate exercise is okay. Not being familiar with the details of your augmentation, you should place a call to your surgeon and follow his/her advice.
In general, you should be fine, but I always think it's a good idea to consult with your surgeon. He or she knows your case intimately is best equipped to answer these types of questions.
Thank you for your question. It is best to check with your surgeon, after implants you should have a final check and be released to resume any activities you did prior to surgery. As a general rule in my practice, I suggest waiting about 8 weeks before you resume heavy physical activity. Again, I would check with your surgeon.
I appreciate your question. No strenuous activity for 6-8 weeks is best. Since you are at 2 month mark, please check with your surgeon as he/she is most familiar with how you are healing at this time and can give you clearance to work out.The best way to assess and givetrue advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certifiedplastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.Best of luck!Dr. Schwartz
At about 8-10 weeks out for most procedures patients can go back to full activity with no restrictions, but it is always best to ask your surgeon.
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your breast augmentation! Every doctor has their own post-operative care regimen, and the most important thing is to follow what your surgeon has told you. I usually advise no cardio for 2 weeks, and no chest weights for 4 weeks. By 2 months out you should be ok to resume your normal exercise. This can vary depending on the particular patient, particular technique, and each individual recovery process, so definitely check with your surgeon. Best of luck with your continued recovery!
I agree with your doctor. I tell my patients that three weeks after surgery, it’s OK for them to do aerobic activity (treadmill, stationary bike, etc.), running and lower-body weight training. Women are usually comfortable doing arm exercises (upper-body weights, swimming) s...
Hi. That's the most common area for delayed wound healing with this type of incision. The blood supply is weakest at the triangle points of the closure. Generally these tend to heal on their own without any surgical intervention as long as it's kept clean, covered and ointment...
Thanking you for your question. Certain sutures under the skin can work their way out in certian patients. This is more common when using using a permanent suture. This is less common when using a dissolvable suture. We call this a spitting suture. You should consult with your Plastic Surgeon...
