I usually recommend just a gentle cleanser and moisturizer for the first 24-48 hours and continue to apply moisturizer as needed for hydration and any itchiness that can occur. Applying a sunscreen after microneedling is not always advised either because of the micro channels that have been created with the procedure itself. It is best to just avoid the sun or wear a hat when going outside for the first 24 hours. After that, you may apply sunscreen. Hope this helps!

To be completely honest, we normally recommend doing these 3-5 days post treatment. However, if your skin isn't sensitive or you suffer from pigment/acne scars...this is actually amazing for results! Not only does it help cell turnover and collagen production.

We don't recommend exfoliating further.

Unlikely that Retinol was used after micro-needling. We usually use more mild serums, like Nectar from Alastin, followed by sunscreen. I recommend you find out exactly what was applied. Hi there! We recommend waiting at least 48 hours before resuming a topical retinol or vitamin c serum. I'm sure the doctor thought applying the retinol afterwards would help the product penetrate deeper, but in my opinion this may cause additional irritation. We usually apply a hyaluronic acid serum to soothe and hydrate the skin post microneedling. We also only use a mineral sunscreen post microneedling as a chemical sunscreen can cause irritation and redness. We recommend avoiding any harsh topical products 48 hours post microneedling.
