5 days post Botox, experiencing vertigo and light sensitivity. Is this normal?

I get botox for migraines & have for years. This time, I'm experiencing vertigo 5 days after injections & extreme light sensitivity. I told the dr I don't like the botox because it pushes my brows down & makes my eyes look older. Injections for migraines are placed in different locations than cosmetic. Anyways, he placed it higher this time, & even tho I understand it could be a coincidence, I feel the vertigo and extreme light sensitivity are both likely from the Botox injections.

Both symptoms, the light sensitivity and vertigo, are not uncommon in migraine. Vertigo may appear in headaches-free intervals, may be positional and random. The same with light sensitivity. Therefore, your symptoms are more likely caused by your primary diagnosis than to Botox injection. What appears to be related to Botox is your description of brow position.In many cases, Botox injected in particular areas for aesthetic reasons, will alleviated migraine headaches. Just look at the history of migraine treatments with Botox. This effect was not a results of scientific deliberations but simple coincidence when many patients suffering from migraine headache noted relief after receiving Botox for cosmetic reasons.  It has become a standard practice to inject Botox in "trigger points". Consequently, more trigger points you have - more Botox you will receive. Most of the time there is no need for it. Even history tells us so.Good luck!

there are at least two issues in play here....how you look and your migraine problem. since you can always get additional botox if needed, perhaps see a plastic surgeon who will focus on how you look next time. if those injections help the migraine problem adequately as well, then you have solved the problem if you like the "look" you get as well. if not , you may have to get more botox from your neurologist  and accept lower brow position......or  choose between ideal appearance and tolerating migraine symptoms.
