It would be fine to use refresh or lacrilube eye drops or ointment. The watery eyes should be temporary if some botox drifted into the eyelid muscle.
I would recommend refresh tears which are over the counter and can be used as needed. I would also suggest consulting your injector.
Thank you for sharing your question. I would recommend Refresh eye drops to soothe any irritation and supply a nice layer of lubrication. Hope this helps.
I recommend getting following up with your injector for recommendations. Over-the-counter artificial tears may improve this. Also, venus legacy and thermage treatments can soften Botox results. Botox results will resolve in 3-4 months. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
There are several over-the-counter options that may be helpful, but OTC eye drops that include a preservative may be more likely to further irritate your eyes. I suggest asking your injector for a recommendation as everyone has his or her personal preferences. Best of luck to you.
Thank you for your question. Any eye drops containing an antihistamine should be safe and help with your symptoms.
I would suggest TheraTears or Retaine drops. Your symptoms should disappear fairly soon. The normal function of the tear pump may have been reduced by the botox, especially if the lower lid near the lacrimal punctum was treated.
The best to use is Systane which is saline but does not have a preservative which makes it less likely to irritate
Excessive amount of botox can weaken the muscle that closes the eyelids and create either dry eyes or weak blinking. Both result in tearing problem. You may use artificial tears over the counter for the dry eye condition but if the tearing does not improve with drops then the weak closure is the problem and only time will correct that as botox wears off !! Good luck.
If a high dose of Botox is injected in the muscles of the eyelids, tearing for a few weeks can occur. Artificial tears are over the counter and can be used up to 6 times a day. If you need to use them more often then that then it is best to get preservative free artificial tears. I hope the drops make you feel better and best of luck.
