It is extremely common for rhinoplasty surgeons to create a simulation which will show you what you can look like after surgery. I recommend consulting with a Board-Certified plastic surgeon who will accurately examine you, create a simulation and will develop a plan tailored to your individual needs. Best wishes!
Photo imaging as part of the surgical planning process is very important. We do this with all of our rhinoplasty patients. Photo imaging and using real before-and-after patients, in whom I have performed their surgery, during the consultation helps me communicate what I would like the final result to look like. Also, during the consultation, I need to hear from you what you are hoping to achieve. I think that the Vectra 3D system is the best tool to allow us to communicate effectively, both me telling you what I am seeing and would like to change and you telling me what you want it to look like. In my opinion, Vectra 3D imaging provides the post-operative images that are most reflective of what your real post-operative look will be. Make sure you go to our website for more information about photo imaging during the consultation
Great question. Every surgeon has their own approach to communicating the plan of surgery to their patients. Some surgeons will use 2D photo's, others use tracings and more recently 3D imaging. What is important to remember is that pre-operative imaging is just a tool to help the surgeon and the patient communicate and make sure that each party is on the same page is regards to the desired outcomes. Due to the complexities involved in rhinoplasty, meeting expectations with reality is probably the most important aspect of the preoperative consultation. While predictive imaging can give an impression of the final result you also need to understand that it is just a prediction. In reality skin, soft tissue, cartilage and bone behave very differently to a computer simulation but none the less it is an important tool.
Hello and thank you for your question. Many plastic surgeons employ imaging programs to gain a sense of what the patient is looking for prior to surgery. These programs can include the 3D camera called Vectra and two dimensional imaging programs. These programs can be manipulated to demonstrate possible results. In addition to this, I prefer to show patients real before and after photographs of patients with similar nasal anatomy so the patient can visualize real patient results also.Best wishes and good luck.
In our practice, we perform computer imaging at the time of the examination and consultation to give the patient some idea of what their new nose may look like. While it is not a guarantee of results, it is in excellent form of communication to understand what can and cannot be accomplished with the procedure. Computer imaging can also be performed on-line by the patient's themselves on the link below
Hi, I have performed and taught Rhinoplasty for 30 years. I show Rhinoplasty patients how their nose will be refined using a 3-way mirror while touching their nose. They are then shown real before and after photos. I do not use or believe that manipulating a photo with imaging software is a suitable replacement for seeing real post Rhinoplasty results. The software can change things on the photo in a way Rhinoplasty never could. Hope this helps.
Some do and some dont. Its not a guarantee of results. You only get a general ideal of what the surgeon expects to achieve and what your response to the changes are. I also is use it in the OR as a blueprint for the surgery.
This is absolutely possible, and a very simple procedure. This would be a minimally invasive surgical procedure with little to no downtime, no packing, no visible incisions or scars, and no pain! Please make sure you consult with a physician who has years of experience in facial cosmetic...
There are surely good cosmetic surgeons in Prague and the Czech Republic, which is a common medical tourism destination in Europe, particularly for the convenient prices. Having said this, I am sure there are good and qualified surgeons in Denmark too, and it would probably be wiser to see a...
I am unaware as to the surgery Lil Kim received. It actually takes up to one full year for the nose to completely heal, but around three to four months after the surgery the changes will be the most obvious. Up through the four-month mark the nasal structure will be fragile as it mends and heals...
