Feminine pads are great at absorbing fluid. The pads might be used to collect fluid that may leak out around your drain site incisions. Another use for them could be for your liposuction incisions. Sometimes you will have drainage from these incisions as well. It is always best to check with your surgeon.Best Regards,
The pads will most likely be used to absorb fluid around the drain. Every surgeon has their own regimens so be sure to follow both their pre and post operative instructions.Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
The feminine pads will be use around the drain for absorbing fluids purposes, and keeping you dry. They have a high capacity to absorb high volumes of liquids.
Some doctors will use these in place of surgical gauze/pads. However, this is a question that should be posed to your surgeon performing the procedure. Good luck with your procedure.
I suspect the recommendation for feminine pads are for use around the drains. Gauze and a number of other medical products can also be used. A 4x4 gauze pad folded in half and cut half way through makes an excellent drain sponge. Of course, when in doubt, you should always call and confirm with your plastic surgeons office. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta

Thanks for your question. Seromas will decrease in size but if left to reabsorb on their own will tend to generate a seroma cavity which will be permanent (although not harmful). The first question I will ask you is why the hospital is following your abdominoplasty? I recommend you consult with...
Thanks for your question. 8 weeks after a tummy tuck there are several possible diagnosis: hematoma, seroma, pseudoherniation of the abdominal fasica, or hernia. A CT scan of the abdomen might shed some light if you would like a more accurate evaluation. Hope this helps,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
Hello, and thank you for this question. I do not believe that you may get more stretch marks ,in fact many times with abdominoplasty the stretch marks will be removed. You can discuss all of this with a plastic surgeon in your area which would include a full physical examination to gauge the...
There are 4 different categories of abdomens which can describe types of surgical interventions. THere are some cross overs and each does not represent an exclusive technique for that individual body type. Modfied abdominoplasty can be useful for patients who wish to minimize scarring...
If you are happy with the appearance of your tummy (I agree, the overall shape and skin of your tummy is good), then pursue a hernia repair. Ask the general surgeon where the scar will be, best if hidden within the inner upper contour of the umbilicus so it will not be seen. Good luck and thanks...
