I am a 32 year old female who will be undergoing vertical and horizontal chin augmentation with a sliding genioplasty. If chin augmentation alone is not enough to reduce the structurally-associated premature/pseudo jowls, the surgeon may also perform minor liposuction. What are the chances of permanent nerve damage when this is performed by someone very familiar with facial anatomy, specifically an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with cosmetic specialties? Hello, thanks for your question and photos. You have a small bulge under your jaw and you may need a Chin Lipo. The procedure will eliminate fat in the chin and neck. Consult a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area for a physical exam. Good luck!
In my opinion, the chin/neck area is the one area where you do NOT need to be at an "ideal" weight for liposuction. You can achieve great results in this area whether you are at a stable weight, or working to lose weight.
