Hello, I'm considering chin liposuction, however as I'm doing research I'm realizing that fat is one of the things that keeps skin taunt and youthful as you age. Have there been any long-term studies done following people who have gotten chin lipo to understand how their skin looks in 2, 3, 4 decades? I'm thinking that I might need to ALSO put money aside for the eventual day when I'll need a facelift or fat grafting BACK into that area, ha!
Answer: Tighter skin Chin Liposuction and Thermitight together will tighten the skin as well so you don't have to worry about excessive laxity over time. Chin liposuction helps reduce the bulge under the chin and can be done for the whole neck. Once the fat is removed the skin can become loose and saggy in some cases. It can be avoided by combining it with Thermitight which is a radiofrequency heat delivered under the skin to tighten it. Both chin liposuction and Thermitight can be done at the same time. The recovery is fast and it can be done under local anesthesia. Click on the video link below Regards Dr. J

Answer: Chin liposuction Dear SwanDive, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, there is no need for fat transfer after lipo. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Effects of chin liposuction in the long-term Much more information is needed, such as your age, current skin tone in the neck and a full set of facial photographs. It is also important understand that there are 2 compartments of fat in the neck, and they are located both above and below the platysma muscle. Liposuction can only accomplish removal of fat deposits above the platysma muscle, which many times is an insufficient removal. A surgical neck lift is required to remove fat deposits below the platysma muscle in the neck which also includes a platysma-plasty to significantly improve the jawline. Fat grafting would be total unnecessary

Answer: No need for a future fat transfer after chin and neck Liposuction If done correctly no one should need subcutaneous fat transfer later after chin and neck Liposuction. All of us lucky enough to live to old age will experience facial aging. For those who wish to have cosmetic surgery to look more youthful later in life saving money for a facelift may not be a bad idea. Having financial savings is a good idea in general. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
