Combined Tummy Tuck and Hysterectomy in Utah?

While these combined surgical procedures have been performed together, most experienced plastic surgeons feel that this is a bad combination of surgical procedures to undergo at the same time. There is an increased risk of bleeding, infection, deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and subsequent pulmonary embolism with this specific combination.

Check with your OBGYN. Some surgeons feel this is not a good (safe) combinations, but others have not issues.  In my community these are usually done separately because the hospital operating room fees (as in five-fold or more) are often enormous when compared with outpatient facilities.

That used to be a very common surgical combo, but lost favor when it appeared the surgical risks were higher than when the operations were done separately. There have been some recent reports indicating those risks may not be that high after all. But why take chances. Patients often ask me what I would advise my wife to do. I would encourage her not to do those two procedures at the same time.
