I am considering upper and lower blepharoplasty and wonder if it's better to go through a plastic surgeon with experience on face/skin surgeries as opposed to ophthalmologist/oculoplastic surgeon. I'm told upper may be covered by insurance since it's affecting my vision and wonder if that also applies to a lower lift as well. Is it uncommon for a plastic surgeon to go through insurance for this procedure or would I be expected to pay out of pocket?

A blepharoplasty can improve the asymmetry, but they'll never be perfect. Differential amounts of skin and fat can be removed make your eyelids look more symmetrical. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.
