10 years post rhinoplasty - what can I do to minimize the appearance of scar lines around my nostrils?

Had rhinoplasty op over 10 years ago and now starting to notice the Ala Scar line around my nostril starting to show through my makeup. Please could you recommend the best treatment to remove or reduce this?

Hi! So this scar actrually does not look too bad to me in terms of alar scarring. However, if it is something you are very bothered by, 10 years out means that most of the scarring process has already happened so you should not expect super significant improvements in it. Your best bet is to consider microneedling to try to break up some of that scar. Good luck!

It is very likely that dermabrasion of the scar  could create some change. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon would help. Good luck.

When I did my training one of my rhinoplasty teachers “Rollin Daniel” told me only God can create creases. He told me to always make incisions just on the outside of a natural crease, but never in the crease itself. For all his flaws he was right about this one.
The incision should ideally not be made directly in the crease, because then you can’t move it, or make good adjustments.I don’t think there’s much you can do to improve the scar at this point, and some of this is related to how and where it was made.
Luckily, or unlikely not everybody has teaching from Dr Daniel.
