Are there any UK surgeons who perform mild gynecomastia surgery with local anaesthetic only?

I had gyno surgery about 10 months ago in Poland. The procedure was to perform lypo and excision to remove any lumps of hard tissue that give me my puffy nipple look. They only did lypo and said I did not need excision to which I still strongly disagreed with after a month or so when I could tell that the same lumps and puffy look remained. I have given it plenty of time to analyse and I believe the excision still needs to be done. Can anyone help me in the uk by doing this via local anaesthetic

Thank you for your questions regarding revision gynecomastia surgery under local anesthetic. I often perform mild or even moderate gynecomastia surgery with local anesthetic. Typically, before the procedure, the patient is given an anxiolytic, like Valium. During the procedure, in the area of concern is locally anesthetized. An incision is made along the areolar border. The anesthetic lasts for 5 to 6 hours.  The gynecomastia reduction results can be excellent.

Thanks for your question. Sorry to hear that you have had a nagetive experience abroad. If the excess tissue that requires removal is relatively limited, then this could be performed under local anaesthetic. It would be worth attending for a face to face consult with a surgeon specialising in chest surgery.

Dear RobMany thanks for posting your question. There are many options for gynaecomastia surgery, but it sound like you need something called sub-areolar button removal. Usually this is fine to do under a local anaesthetic, however, only an in-person examination can determine whether this will be possible.I hope this helps

Thank you for your question.  Depending on your overall health and class of gynecomastia (class I for example) local anesthetic alone can be used to remove the residual firm glandular tissue. See an ASPS board certified surgeon for consultation and definitive surgical treatment.

Hi Robif the adequate amount of liposuction has been done and only breast tissue is present then local anaesthetic is possible. Obviously, the priority is to do a proper job, so if doing that requires general anaesthetic then you may have to consider it.
