My heath issues with MS as the typical legs, can get stiff and weak but i still live, work, drive and walk without assistance on the majority of days, and the typical fatigue, i sleep well and think that apart from the obvious stress leading up to the surgery (planning to have next Jan) I should be ok. My husband fully supports me and will be around to help as much as I need. I plan on 4 wks off work and lots of rest to ensure a good recovery. So would you recommend surgery with my MS?

MS by itself is not a contraindication to perform surgery. It depends on the severity of the MS and a surgical clearance is definitely needed before the procedure is done. It may be prudent to do them in separate settings so as not to overwhelm you.

I would recommend that you discuss this question with your primary care physician.  If your physician thinks that you would tolerate surgery well, then go for a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. I require a letter from your physician giving me medical clearance for surgery for most patients with chronic disease.

You need a medical clearance. There is a slight chance that the surgery could cause your MS to flare up.
