Will this excess skin on my top lip ever retract? (Photos)

Question

I had 1ml Juvederm Dec 2015. 6 months later they were thinner, still slightly uneven at underside of top lip. 11 months later, complete mess (see pic) I have had 4 doses of hyalase which has improved it hugely but I'm still left with a thin band of skin at the bottom of my top lip. Will this ever go????

Do you have proof the filler was Juvederm? it is supposed to be dissolvable, should have disappeared so far... that issue you complain about is not extra skin, that is the filler protruding, migrated and with chronic foreign body reaction; you may need a minor surgical procedure to take away that trip of vermilion which is prominent.Do consider in the future filling your lips using your own collagen, taken from your own dermis.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  Based on the improvement that your lip obtained after hyaluronidase injections I would advocate for continued treatment into your upper lip.  As the lip is only a thin layer of skin around a lot of muscle the tissues will shrink appropriately once the filler has been removed. Hope this helps.
