Hi, Im very happy with my ears, but still have that worry at the back of my head that they will go back to how they used to be. I wear the headband at night so my ears don't bend or fold whist I sleep. If I bend my ears or pull them would I undo the stitches etc? Im not in contact with my surgeon for other reasons.
Answer: 2 years later I wish my patients were as compliant and cautious after surgery as you have been! I agree with my colleagues, after two years, you don't require a headband, and you can return to normal activities. You express concern that your otoplasty is dependent on a few stitches, but after so much time, the shape is now being maintained by surgical scarring. Best of luck!

Answer: Headband after Pinnaplasty Thank you for your question. At this stage you are well healed and there is no need to wear the head band. You can also resume all activities as normal.

Answer: Had my ears pinned back 2 yrs ago, and I wear a headband to protect my ears every night. Do I still need to wear the headband? No, at this point, there is no need for the use of a headband; your repair is no longer dependent on the stitches etc. Best wishes.

Answer: Do I need to wear a headband 2-years after my ears were set back Dear BobstermonsterMany thanks for posting your question - you are now well out of the healing phase so it should be entirely safe to stop wearing your headband. You can also get back to physical activity and even contact sports should you so wishAll the best

Answer: No God no is the answer. Even if you were a professional rugby player I would suggest you could go back to normal activity now. The cartilage will have remodelled in its new position and be as resilient to stress as your old ears were. Hope that helps. Adam Goodwin
