Cost varies by surgeon experience and sometimes geographically. I regularly perform this procedure, have authored book chapters on the subject, and specialize specifically in plastic surgery of the face, head, and neck. The fee is generally lower for one ear versus two, and consultations in my practice are free of charge.Best of luck!
Thanks for the question. When it comes to costs of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider… are some of the potential variables involved. You will find some average costs of surgery on this website and on individual plastic surgeons' websites as well. I would also suggest that you do not base your selection of plastic surgeon primarily on costs of surgery; keep in mind that revisionary surgery may be more costly in many ways.I hope this, and the attached link, helps. Best wishes.
There are a lot of variables with going to pricing for cosmetic surgery which include anesthesia, operating room, and Surgeon's fee. Obviously, these vary quite a bit around the country. Otoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia, therefore no anesthesia fee is necessary. Anticipate visible bruising and swelling lasting approximately 10 days. Thank you for your question. In Montreal Quebec the average cost for one ear varies between $2000-$3000. A consultation will be required to discuss surgery details and options. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon for best results.
The costs for otoplasty varies significantly around the country. Our cost for otoplasty starts at $2000 + MD Anesthesia Related Costs (if necessary). More expensive cities such as New York or Los Angeles or areas with fewer board certified plastic surgeons may be more expensive. One way to ensure the lowest possible costs and achieve the highest possible quality is to locate a board certified plastic surgeon who owns his or her own AAAASF nationally accredited center. Consult with 3 experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to understand your options.
Thank you for your question. While I am sorry to hear you are experiencing discomfort in your post-procedural appearance, there are certain factors to take into account while assessing the results of your otoplasty. For one, while two months post-surgery does lessen the appearance of swelling,...

Thank you for your question. You submitted a question without a photo, asking if the ears feel soft and natural after otoplasty, or if they feel hard after the procedure. I can certainly give you some perspective on how I counsel my patients concerned about prominent ears in my practice. A...
Hi there, do you have any photos? Its hard to understand what your concerns are. Is there a cosmetic deformity that you can notice? Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MSCertified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
You know your anatomical terms but how do you know its fractured? If so, you likely had a hematoma and if that happened, you have a chance of developing a cauliflower ear as you continue to heal. At this point, if your swelling is resolved, all you can do is wait and see. If you're still sw...
Thank you for your inquiry. The photo you provided is not sufficient to determine if they protrude "too much". A consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is necessary to determine if you are a candidate for otoplasty. There are generally two different anatomic problems that cause e...
