Is one CoolSmooth Pro Applicator by zeltiq coolsculpt sufficient to de-bulk upper abdomen by 25%?

Coolsmooth applicator was designed for flat areas such as outer thigh region. It requires a special band to hold it tight against the area being treated. It most likely will not work well on the abdomen

However, in our practice we find the CoolMax ( CoolAdvantage Plus - depending on the system being used ) provides the best results when trying to de-bulk. Your question is difficult to answer without pictures. The CoolSmooth applicator is meant for areas of the body in which the fat is not "pinchable", such as the outer thighs. It is not the first choice for treatment of the abdomen. If you are a candidate for the suction based applicators then I would not use the CoolSmooth on your abdomen. In rare cases it can be an option, but these are certainly the minority. Remember, improper use and placement of the CoolSculpting applicators can result in dents and "shark bites". Make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician provider. 

While it's difficult to see if you're a candidate without pictures, this is unlikely to get you the result you want. Keep in mind, for best results, a combination approach with other non-invasive treatments is needed and some people need more than one treatment with Coolsculpting. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. Hi, thanks for the question.No, I would not recommend using the CoolSmooth applicator on the abdomen.  Your money would be better spent, and your results will be better, with a vacuum applicator.  CoolSmooth applicators on the abdomen are best for people who have very little fat on the abd but still want a reduction.Best of luck.Michael Kerin MDKerin MedSpa

The CoolSmooth applicator was primarily developed to treat fat on the outer thigh, where the fat and skin is not able to be drawn with suction into a normal applicator.  I would not recommend using this applicator on the abdomen, where the normal applicators with suction could be used.  The applicators that use the suction are more efficient and I think would give a better result than the CoolSmooth applicator.  

Thank you for your question. If your goal is to "debulk", there is a specific applicator meant just for that. The Pro applicator does not have a vaccuum to pull the tissue into. Thus, our larger applicator with a vaccuum would be more ideal. Best of luck!

No, I don't recommend this. With Coolsculpting, there is no down time, no risk of infection and you can achieve up to a 40% reduction with a retreatment of the same area. You'll need to have a consultation to determine how many treatments and which applicator is recommended to get your desired results. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a Coolsculpting-certified practitioner. No, this is unlikely to yield the results you want. CoolSculpting is a great option, because it is non-invasive with little to no down-time. Most patients opt to get re-treatments in the same area for maximum results of up to 40-50% fat cell reduction.  I suggest scheduling an in-person consultation with a physician so you can be evaluated and given recommendations. 

Cool Smooth Pro is an excellent applicator for de-bulking dense areas. We have found that patients lose an additional 10-15% decrease in tissue with use of the Cool Smooth PRO in the abdominal area. This applicator is ideal for abdominal treatments with very dense tissue.
