Open wound - should I be concerned? (Photo)

Hello,This is not a hugh problem, but there is enough redness to constitute a call in to your surgeon. He may elect to put you on a short course of antibiotics as well as remove any stitch that is sticking out. The sooner the better, I believe.You should be fine!

You should definitely call your surgeon about this. It may be nothing, but its best to have any abnormalities with the healing process checked out, especially when you have gotten implants. You want to make sure that the opening doesn't get larger and doesn't connect with the implant pocket because an infection of the implant would probably require removal to correct. 

Thank you for your question and photos.  Your findings should be communicated to your plastic surgeon as soon as possible so that you can be evaluate by the person/staff that know you and the procedure that you had the best.   In my opinion you likely do not have much to worry about, as the 3-4 week mark is approximately when absorbable sutures placed beneath the skin to close your breast augmentation incision may begin to work their way to the surface.  There does not appear to be a significant amount of inflammation or infection present, however with a physical exam it is impossible to be certain.  Again, a follow up with your surgeon as soon as possible would be my best recommendation.  Best wishes during your continued recovery!

You should call your plastic surgeon and inform him/her of what just happened. Call today, even if it is a holiday.  Some openings may be due to suture issues, some may reflect a possible infection or other problem.  Being seen in person is best , so go ahead and call your surgeon today  for best advise.Below is a link with general information on breast augmentation.
