4 weeks post op and my nose looks fat and shapeless for my face. Is this just swelling? (Photo)

Dear jadey82It is not unusual for the tip and supratip to take longer to settle. With open rhinoplasty, it will take 3-4 months to get a good sense of the tip shape and it will even continue to evolve for up to a year.Be patient and follow your surgeons instructions. I generally recommend daily sunblock to my patients at this point.

4 weeks post op is still too early to determine how your nose will look once it is fully healed.  Like previously stated below, the tip of the nose is the area that remains swollen the longest following an open rhinoplasty.  Try to be patient as you continue to heal.Mark Petroff, MD., FACS
