I see the most common rhinoplasty procedures are tip refinement and removing bumps or crooked bridges.I don't see many before pictures like my nose, and I'm scared I'd look like Michael Jackson after. I don't like my nostrils, especially from the profile. I feel like you see straight in my nose. When I smile the tip points down like an arrow and my nostrils go up. I feel that my nose is so large on my face, but I'm unsure what would be done to fix this other than completely changing it all
Answer: The type of rhinoplasty you need is a good rhinoplasty ! Rhinoplasty's do not result in the Michael Jackson look unless you go to a surgeon who is poorly trained. I have done rhinoplasty as have many other surgeons on the site without any results remotely looking like that. Choose a surgeon who is very experienced and does natural looking noses and you will have an excellent result.

Answer: What type of Rhinoplasty would I benefit from? The areas that you described and would like improved can be addressed with a subtle natural appearing rhinoplasty performed by an expert artistic plastic surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience. It can be achieved with either an open or closed technique. Keep in mind, that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the proposed operative procedure with you and your parents may not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. The length of the procedure, cost, and the specific operative steps to achieve an ideal cosmetic result vary from patient to patient and would depend on the findings at your consultation examination. Answer: What to do? As others will note, one cannot give a definitive opinion without seeing you in person. As you may note, given the lens characteristics of most phone and home cameras your nose will look bigger in such pictures.Nevertheless, a few words. Your nose appears that it may be overprojected, long, somewhat droopy, and crooked. After reading this you may be thinking "yikes", but those are not unusual features in those seeking rhinoplasty opinions. So what do you do:Seek a qualified opinion and find someone you trust and can communicate with. What "kind" of rhinoplasty will depend on what the goals are, and the skill set of the surgeon. Although I have been able to produce good results operating on people with such characteristics via an endonasal technique, it is sometimes necessary to do an "open' technique to accomplish the results. My point is don't get hung up with "open" vs "closed". What you want to do is establish the realistic goals with a surgeon, maybe get a preview on an imager and then trust your surgeon can accomplish those goals for you.Good luck, there are many qualified people who would be happy to see youFred G. Answer: What type of Rhinoplasty would I benefit from? I dislike my nostrils and how my nose looks like an arrow when I smile. You are a good candidate for a reduction rhinoplasty via a closed approach. Seek a plastic surgeon who performs hundreds of these procedures, has great reviews and photos, and is an expert in this field.
