Tuberous breasts? What should I do? (photos)

You should also be aware that breasts might change shape and size after significant weight change or being stretched from the milk of pregnancy. After the milk of pregnancy disappears, breasts might remain the same size, become bigger or smaller and/or droopier. And, what can happen can change from pregnancy to the next. Unfortunately, surgeons have created the term tuberous breasts, a fact which causes unnecessary concerns for women. Many women just have different sizes and shapes and in my opinion shouldn't be labeled. For those interested in breast enhancement, I recommend an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of former patients with similar measurements. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size breast implant is right for them.

Hi there, thank you for your question. I suggest you to have round shape breast implants to have upper pole fullness and cleavage. The different size of implants can be chosen to decrease the asymmetry on your breasts but, they cannot be exactly symmetrical. It also seems that you do not need areola reduction but of course, it's up to you.

Thanks for your inquiry and excellent pictures. You would benefit from a peri-areolar lift and release of the lower pole to increase lower pole volume. Find a board certified surgeon with much experience with this approach and best of luck.

You don't really have tuberous breasts, but to lift your nipple position and make them less puffy I would recommend a donut mastopexy in conjunction with your submuscular augmentation!

In my office I would measure your chest, review photos with you, and have you try on the implant sizers with different tops to make sure we pick the correct size and profile!

Dear sophie286,tuberous breasts are not simply small or underdeveloped breasts. The appearance of the breast can range from mild to severe, and typical traits include: enlarged, puffy areola, rather wide spacing between the breasts, very little breast tissue, sagging, higher than normal inferior breast fold, and narrow base at the chest wall.The type of surgery best for you will depend on the severity of your condition.My preferred technique for tuberous breast correction involves a multistep procedure where the breast tissue is released in a radial pattern to prevent herniation into the areola and placement of a custom implant size is in the breast to allow appropriate expansion of the breast in the restricted dimensions. This can often be done in a single procedure but sometimes may require two surgeries.That said, it is best that you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

The technique I recommend a lift using a modified Benelli. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, small implants or fat transfers can be performed.

Hello, thank you for your question. The puffy appearance of your areolas is very normal. Many woman have areolas that appear just like yours. If the size/shape of your areolas bothers you a lot, you could have an areola reduction and if you want to add volume you can choose from breast augmentation with implants or fat transfer. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.

You may have some minor changes on your right breasts that are tuberous, but over all, it is minimal. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon, being measured and examined, and discussing your options. during the consultation , you can try on a variety of sizes to see what you like.
