I had the inframammary fold lowered on each breast. Is the new inframammary crease filling in ok? (photo)

When there is a well defined breast fold, lowering it is a set up for a double bubble, which is difficult to correct. In three months you will know whether this has developed. A loss of sensation in the lower breast is normal and will slowly but perhaps incompletely, return.

At 12 days post-op, your body is still healing, and changes in sensation are quite normal at this stage. You likely still notice some swelling and tenderness in the area, meaning that your current breast appearance is not fully indicative of the final results you can expect to see once fully healed, a process that normally takes between 6 to 8 months. However, if you have concerns, you should speak to your plastic surgeon or schedule a follow-up visit.

It typically takes 3 - 6 months for the swelling to subside and and implants to settle into proper position.  Please discuss your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. Also, make sure you follow all of your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions regarding level of physical activity and use of a support bra. Hope this helps and good luck with your recovery.

You are only 12 days post op so unfortunately, hard to comment on your results. I typically advise my patients to wait a good 4-6 months to see their final result to allow all the swelling to resolve and to let the implants drop and settle some. Good luck!

  It is normal to loose sensation to the lower pole after such surgery. Sensation usually returns over a 6 months period. The left breast is possibly developing a double bubble deformity. You should follow up with your surgeon to keep a close follow up on your left breast.

My brief review of your case suggests that lowering your inframammary fold was only a part of a more involved aesthetic breast strategy. The following comments pertain strictly to lowering the fold in breast augmentation.  It is not unusual to to require 2-3 months for the effects of inframammary fold adjustments to be fully apparent. Furthermore, surgical dissection can lead to loss of sensation. In most cases, the diminished sensation improves. When I plan to lower an inframammary more than 1 cm, I warn patients about the risk of implant indentation from the tight skin of the old fold with double bubble appearance.  Your images suggests that this maybe evolving on the left breast.  Should this become disagreeable, a breast lift, fat grafting, or resuspension of the region can be considered.
