I got a mole removed. It formed a scab which my dermatologist said it should and it would fall off but, I caught it? (Photo)

I got a mole removed. it formed a scap which my dermatologist said it should do and it would fall off but, I caught it and hale of the scap has come off,should I get back in touch with my dermatologist or should I just leave it I'm worried there's going to be a scar because it right in my hair line near my eye ???

I would agree with your plastic surgeon that extending the scar to remove the dog ears after your mole removal would be the best method of repair.

Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear of your symptoms.  This is not a normal recovery from a mole removal and I would recommend you reach out to your surgeon for an in-person evaluation.  Once the cause of your spreading pain can be determined, the best treatment option...

If this mole is right in the middle of the brow it needs to be excised and surgically repaired so the hair is connected.  If lasered shaved or removed without brining the skin together there likely will be no hair later and you would need a transpalnt. Best, Dr. Emer.

The only recommendation I give patients after mole removal is to make sure to wash with soap and water followed by application of petroleum jelly (i.e. Vaseline).  This is usually enough for proper wound healing and there really is no need for a topical antibiotic as likelihood of infection...

It takes some time after freezing for the lesion to fall off.  I typically tell patients to give it 2-3 weeks.  It would likely be too early for anything to fall off after just 5 days.  Usually freezing does no suffice for removing a mole, though, given the limited depth into the...
